Construction of Differential Type Search Coil Magnetometer

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Magnetics Society, 2010
Search coil magnetometer has been used for detection of ac magnetic field with high sensitivity. To reduce demagnetizing factor of core and increase S/N ratio of search coil magnetometer, the core was divided by two parts and coil was wound on each cores. Two coils were connected serially and put into amplifier as differential mode.

Chorus source region localization in the Earth's outer magnetosphere using THEMIS measurements [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2010
Discrete ELF/VLF chorus emissions, the most intense electromagnetic plasma waves observed in the Earth's radiation belts and outer magnetosphere, are thought to propagate roughly along magnetic field lines from a localized source region near the ...

A Merged Search‐Coil and Fluxgate Magnetometer Data Product for Parker Solar Probe FIELDS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 2020
AbstractNASA's Parker Solar Probe (PSP) mission is currently investigating the local plasma environment of the inner heliosphere (<0.25 R⊙) using both in situ and remote sensing instrumentation. Connecting signatures of microphysical particle heating and acceleration processes to macroscale heliospheric structure requires sensitive measurements of ...

Tectonomagnetic and VLF electromagnetic signals in Central Italy

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2004
Tectonomagnetic field observations from absolute magnetic field level measurements were undertaken in Central Italy in an area extending between latitude 41°N and 43°N and between longitude 13°E and 15°E.

Determination of wave vectors using the phase differencing method [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2013
Due to the collisionless nature of space plasmas, plasma waves play an important role in the redistribution of energy between the various particle populations in many regions of geospace. In order to fully comprehend such mechanisms it is necessary to

First Results From the SCM Search‐Coil Magnetometer on Parker Solar Probe

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 2022
AbstractParker Solar Probe is the first mission to probe in situ the innermost heliosphere, revealing an exceptionally dynamic and structured outer solar corona. Its payload includes a search‐coil magnetometer (SCM) that measures up to three components of the fluctuating magnetic field between 3 Hz and 1 MHz.

Evolution of magnetotelluric, total magnetic field, and VLF field parameters in Central Italy: relations to local seismic activity

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2001
Magnetotelluric data were collected at Collemeluccio (41.72°N, 14.37°E) in Central Italy from summer 1991 to spring 1998. Analyzed by means of tensor decomposition on the geoelectric potential and robust estimation on the geomagnetic field, this set of ...
