Fine‐Tunning BaCo0.4Fe0.4Zr0.1Y0.1O3−δ‐Based Air Electrodes for Reversible Protonic Ceramic Cells via Co‐Engineering A‐site Deficiency and Nickel Content

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A synergistic strategy combining A‐site deficiency and B‐site nickel doping yielded a BCFZYN‐095‐01 nanocomposite air electrode for reversible protonic ceramic cells with superior ORR/OER activities. B‐site deficiency in the perovskite lattice enhances proton conduction, and nickel doping within the bulk facilitates oxygen transport.

Seasonal changes in growth of coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) off Oregon and Washington and concurrent changes in the spacing of scale circuli [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this study we present new information on seasonal variation in absolute growth rate in length of coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) in the ocean off Oregon and Washington, and relate these changes in growth rate to concurrent changes in the spacing of

Sustainable Flame‐Retardant Poly Lactic Acid Biocomposites Reinforced with Polyphosphate‐Enriched Microalgae: Unlocking the Potential of Hyper‐Compensation

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
This study explores microalgae cultivation for wastewater treatment and enhancement of poly lactic acid (PLA)‐based biocomposites. It achieves up to 99.9% nutrient removal, increases biomass productivity by 322%, and demonstrates a triphasic luxury phosphorus uptake system. Incorporation into PLA improves fire‐retardant properties, suggesting potential

Aquifer Arsenic Cycling Induced by Seasonal Hydrologic Changes within the Yangtze River Basin.

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Technology, 2016
Consumption of groundwater containing >10 μg L(-1) arsenic (As) adversely impacts more than 100 million people worldwide. Multiyear trends in aquifer As concentrations have been documented, but strong seasonal variations are not commonly observed.

Self‐Adaptive Reflectance Film for Passive Temperature Regulation in Diverse Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The rising demand for space cooling calls for innovative passive thermal systems. Traditional radiative cooling materials lack efficiency and alignment with cooling needs, limiting their energy‐saving. A smart film (PFSF) that integrates radiative cooling, reflectance tuning, and phase transition, offering adaptable temperature control across climates ...

Seasonal weight changes in laboratory ferrets.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Ferrets (Mustela putorius furo) are a valuable animal model used in biomedical research. Like many animals, ferrets undergo significant variation in body weight seasonally, affected by photoperiod, and these variations complicate the use weight as an ...
