Seasonal distribution of geomagnetic pulsations
Journal of Geophysical Research, 19651. At the Observatory of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences near Nagycenk (geographic coordinates φ = 47°38′, λ = 16°43′, geomagnetic coordinates ϕ = 47°, Λ = 98.3°) earth current records have been obtained since August 1957. The chief object of research is to analyze the pulsations.

Seasonal distribution of borreliae in Ixodes ricinus ticks
Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, 1994Ixodes ricinus ticks were collected by flagging vegetation of a mixed oak forest in South Moravia (Czech Republic) at regular two-month intervals from March 1991 to March 1992 and examined for borreliae by darkfield microscopy. Mean annual proportions of infected ticks were 17.2% (15.4% to 21.2% monthly) in females (F), 18.6% (11.8% to 25.9%) in males (

Seasonal Distribution of the Hoary Bat
Journal of Mammalogy, 1964Distributional records of hoary bats, Lasiurus cinereus Peale and Beauvois, were assembled and mapped for each month. In North America females are seen to migrate northward somewhat earlier than males and to occupy an eastern summering ground where young are born, while males are concentrated in western North America.

Season of birth distribution of elite tennis players
Journal of Sports Sciences, 2005In many competitive sports, the use of a cut-off date for junior competition has been associated with a skewed birth date distribution in junior and senior players. The International Tennis Federation uses a junior competition year that commences on 1 January.

Seasonal Variability in Distributed Lag Models
Journal of the American Statistical Association, 1972Abstract The dependent variable in a distributed lag model frequently exhibits a distinct seasonal pattern which cannot be attributed to the seasonal behavior of the independent variable. This article illustrates the advantages of using the variable lag model to incorporate these seasonal influences directly into the distributed lag relationship.

Sex Differences in the Seasonal Distribution of Suicides
British Journal of Psychiatry, 1988An attempt was made to replicate in the USA sex differences reported for the seasonal distribution of suicide in the UK, Finland and Australia. No sex differences were found. Spring and late summer peaks were found for suicides by both males and females.

Priapism, its Incidence and Seasonal Distribution in Finland
Scandinavian Journal of Urology and Nephrology, 1995Priapism is regarded as an uncommon disease in white populations, although no previous research has been done into its incidence in a certain geographical area. All cases of priapism in Finland during the years 1975-90 are reviewed here. Its incidence varied from 0.34 to 0.52/100,000 males per year, being very stable during the whole period of 16 years,

Microwave radio meteorology: Seasonal fading distributions
Radio Science, 1983Refractive fading can significantly impair service on terrestrial line‐of‐sight microwave transmission systems. Digital radio systems are particularly vulnerable to this fading which is produced by vertical gradients in the microwave refractive index.

The log F: A Distribution for All Seasons
Computational Statistics, 2002The paper is devoted to a rather flexible parametric distribution family based on the logarithm of the F distribution. This family, introduced by \textit{R.L. Prentice} [Biometrika 62, 607-614 (1975; Zbl 0328.62013)], is rather flexible and includes as special cases log-normal, Weibull, exponential, log-logistic, and generalized gamma distributions ...

Season distribution of ectopic pregnancy
2013We analysed the records for 464 consecutive patients with histologically documented ectopic pregnancy during a 9-year period in Hong Kong and found a seasonal pattern. There was a statistically significant increase in the likelihood of conceptions during the summer months (June-September) resulting in ectopic pregnancies as compared with the winter ...
