Development of visible light‐sensitive human neuropsin (OPN5) via single amino acid substitution
The present study determines a key amino acid residue, Lys91, for defining UV sensitivity of human OPN5. Heterologous action spectroscopy of the wild type and K91 mutants of OPN5 in HEK293T cells reveals that substitution of Lys91 with neutral (alanine) or acidic amino acids (glutamic or aspartic acids) causes substantial shifts in spectral sensitivity

Genetic diversity and population structure of the Taigan dog breed
The Taigan is a rare sighthound from the mountains of Kyrgyzstan. We used DNA markers to study its genetic diversity and compare it with other sighthound breeds. Our findings show that the Taigan shares close genetic ties with the Kazakh Tazy, suggesting a common ancestry shaped by nomadic traditions and regional adaptation.

Harnessing Outer Space for Improved Electrocaloric Cooling
A novel radiative heat sink/source‐integrated electrocaloric (R‐iEC) system combines the electrocaloric (EC) effect with a thermally conductive radiative cooler (TCRC) to address heat dissipation limitations in EC devices. Utilizing outer space as a heat sink, the system achieves up to 240 W m−2 of heat dissipation performance, making it highly ...

A synergistic strategy combining A‐site deficiency and B‐site nickel doping yielded a BCFZYN‐095‐01 nanocomposite air electrode for reversible protonic ceramic cells with superior ORR/OER activities. B‐site deficiency in the perovskite lattice enhances proton conduction, and nickel doping within the bulk facilitates oxygen transport.
