Quantifying responses of dung beetles to fire disturbance in tropical forests:the importance of trapping method and seasonality [PDF]
Understanding how biodiversity responds to environmental changes is essential to provide the evidence-base that underpins conservation initiatives. The present study provides a standardized comparison between unbaited flight intercept traps (FIT) and ...

Spatiotemporal Variability of Seasonality of Rainfall Over India
We analyzed 113 years (1901–2013) of daily rainfall over India to investigate spatiotemporal variability of rainfall seasonality. Rainfall seasonality and mean annual rainfall were found to be high over the Western Ghats, central, and northeastern parts ...

Hydrogel Thermostat Inspired by Photoprotective Foliage Using Latent and Radiative Heat Control
Guided by Populus alba foliage, this hydrogel latent‐radiative thermostat (LRT) actively balances latent and radiative heat fluxes. An LRT switches solar reflectance, maintains high mid‐IR emissivity, and reversibly evaporates/regenerates water, while titanium oxide (TiO2) nanoparticles toughen the film.

Photothermomechanically Efficient, Low‐Cost, High‐Cycle‐Life, Hybrid MXene‐Polymer Actuators
The addition of MXenes to elastomer‐plastic‐paper films enables the creation of easily prepared actuators that are scalable for small robotic applications. Known as MXene‐polymer Trilayer Actuators (MPTAs), they bend from UV light. Their usefulness is demonstrated through kirigami‐inspired flower‐shaped art design, parallel manipulator for waveguiding,

Genetic Factors Affecting Seasonality, Mood, and the Circadian Clock
In healthy humans, seasonality has been documented in psychological variables, chronotype, sleep, feeding, metabolic and autonomic function, thermoregulation, neurotransmission, and hormonal response to stimulation, thus representing a relevant factor to

Analysing seasonal changes in New Zealand's largest inbound market [PDF]
The purpose of the paper is to analyse seasonal changes in tourism demand by New Zealand's major tourist source market, Australia, for the period 1979-2005. A time series regression model is used to test the significance of monthly seasonality.
