An Observational Longitudinal Study on Seasonal Variations in Tourette Syndrome: Evidence for a Role of Ambient Temperature in Tic Exacerbation

open access: yesBiomedicines
Tourette syndrome (TS) is a high-incidence neurobehavioral disorder that generally begins in childhood. Several factors play a role in its etiology, including genetic influence and auto-immune activation by streptococcal infections.

Impact of Processing Environment on Anti‐Solvent Free FAPbI3 Films and Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores the dependence of 2‐step FAPbI3 films and solar cells on the atmosphere and humidity during each processing step. In‐situ and ex‐situ characterizations are used to correlate film composition, structure, morphology, and intermediate phase evolution with solar cell performance and lifetime.

Towards Climate Neutrality by 2050: Role of Aluminum for Short‐ and Long‐Term Energy and Hydrogen Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The Aluminum energy storage cycle involves the use of renewable energy for Al production and the generation of heat (dry cycle) and heat and H2 (wet cycle) for energy production via Al‐steam combustion. ABSTRACT Reaching climate neutrality by 2050 requires innovative long‐term energy storage (LTES) solutions beyond the current use of fossil fuels ...

Climate Change Agricultural Comparative Advantage and the US Trade Balance

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Current science indicates that warming and elevated atmospheric CO2 will have ambiguous results for crop productivity depending on crop type and geographic location, whereas increased heat stress makes livestock and human labor less productive.

The Metabolism of Streptomyces avermitilis Isolated from Agricultural Soils During the Four Seasons of the Year

open access: yesApplied Microbiology
Streptomyces avermitilis is a soil actinobacterium and has a complex metabolism in its natural habitat. Because of this, the environmental fluctuations present in the seasons can activate or silence the biosynthetic pathways involved in its metabolism ...
