The excess water drawn for drinking and irrigating purposes affects the water reservoir resulting in a lowering of the "water table".

The geo-electrical method was used to measure the resistivity of subsurface layers. Field measurements were conducted using a resistivity device with a Schlumberger array. Variable electrodes were spread with a maximum distance of 400 m.
