RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

Clinicopathological Analysis and Surgical Outcome of Eyelid Malignancies: A Study of 332 Cases

open access: yesJournal of Skin Cancer, 2022
Background. Eyelid tumours are common in our ophthalmic practice. Malignancy cases account only for one-fourth of all eyelid tumours. The most aggressive eyelid malignancy is sebaceous gland carcinoma, but its occurrences are rare in western countries ...

Malignant appearing benign lid tumor – An isolated upper lid schwannoma

open access: yesKerala Journal of Ophthalmology, 2023
Sebaceous carcinoma is notorious for masquerading as other benign and malignant lesions. A 50-year-old male presented with a painless mass on the lateral aspect of the right upper lid. On examination, there was a 25 mm ××× 20 mm ×× 14 mm, nontender, well-

Basal cell carcinoma within nevus sebaceous of the trunk [PDF]

open access: yesBaylor University Medical Center Proceedings, 2019
We report the first case of an 82-year-old woman with five basal cell carcinomas within a large nevus sebaceous of the trunk. Nevus sebaceous of Jadassohn is a congenital cutaneous hamartoma affecting 0.3% of newborns. Clinical diagnosis is based on its distinctive hairless, orange-brown appearance.

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

Ileocecal Adenocarcinoma and Ureteral Transitional Cell Carcinoma with Multiple Sebaceous Tumors and Keratoacanthomas in a Case of Muir-Torre Syndrome

open access: yesDermatology Research and Practice, 2010
Cutaneous neoplasms including sebaceous tumors, keratoacanthomas, and basal cell carcinomas with sebaceous differentiation can be markers of internal malignancy associated with the Muir-Torre Syndrome (MTS).
