Active components to regulate lipid synthesis and inflammatory cascade in cultivated human SZ95 sebocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The aim of this work was to search for new active compounds which regulate lipid synthesis in vitro in SZ95 sebocytes. More than 200 extracts and fractions derived from plants, microorganisms, Bothrops moojeni snake venom as well as peptides were ...

Dexime: A Selectively Enzyme‐Degradable Hydrogel for Protein Therapeutic Release

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A dextrin‐oxime hydrogel (dexime) is produced using ketone or aldehyde modified dextrin and tetra‐oxyamine modified poly(ethylene glycol). The rheological and mechanical properties of dexime are tunable. Dexime is injectable, cytocompatible, hydrolytically stable, and selectively degradable by α‐amylase.

Sebaceous lymphadenoma of parotid gland: A case report of a unique presentation in an immunocompromised patient

open access: yesJournal of Family Medicine and Primary Care, 2020
Sebaceous lymphadenoma is a rare, benign tumor of the parotid gland accounting for only 0.196% of all adenomas of the parotid gland. Our aim is to present a case of sebaceous lymphadenoma, which has been rapidly enlarging over a period of few months in ...

Hedgehog Signaling Regulates Sebaceous Gland Development

open access: yes, 2003
International audienceEpithelial progenitor cells in skin give rise to multiple lineages, comprising the hair follicle, an associated sebaceous gland, and overlying epidermis; however, the signals that regulate sebocyte development are poorly understood.

AI–Guided 4D Printing of Carnivorous Plants–Inspired Microneedles for Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an artificial intelligence (AI)‐guided 4D‐printed microneedle platform inspired by carnivorous plants for wound healing. A thermo‐responsive shape memory polymer enables body temperature–triggered self‐coiling for autonomous wound closure.

E. coli Extracellular Matrix: A Tunable Composite With Hierarchical Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The complex composite‐like mechanical behavior of E. coli biofilm matrix is the result of a synergic contribution of the rigid curli and swelling pEtN‐cellulose, and emerges from specific ratio and assembly conditions. The interactions between the two fibers govern biofilm hydration and characteristic wrinkling patterns, providing crucial insights for ...

Extrusion Bioprinting for Wound Healing: Innovations in Functionalized Bioinks and Bioprinting Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Extrusion‐based bioprinting (EBB) has emerged as a versatile biofabrication platform capable of precisely depositing bioinks composed of biomaterials, cells, and bioactive agents to generate patient‐specific, biomimetic skin constructs. This paper presents a state‐of‐the‐art and forward‐looking overview of EBB for wound healing, encompassing printing ...
