Assessment of SEBAL model for estimating evapotranspiration in the Devils Lake basin

2006 Portland, Oregon, July 9-12, 2006, 2006
Above-average rainfall in the last twelve years has led to rising water levels in the Devils Lake basin in northeastern North Dakota. An irrigation test project has been started at ten farmercooperator field sites within the basin to estimate how much additional water can be utilized via irrigation of agricultural crops.

Spatial-scale effect on the SEBAL model for evapotranspiration estimation using remote sensing data

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Meteorology, 2013
The Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land (SEBAL) has been successfully applied to remote sensing data to estimate surface evapotranspiration (ET) at different spatial and temporal resolutions in more than 30 countries.

Sensitivity Analysis of the Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land (SEBAL)

Transactions of the ASABE, 2009
New versions of evapotranspiration (ET) algorithms based on the Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land (SEBAL) are being published, each containing slightly different equations to calculate the energy balance. It is difficult to determine what impact changing one or more of the equations or coefficients in the series of equations of SEBAL has on the

Adaptation of SEBAL for estimating groundnuts evapotranspiration, in Cyprus

2016
The imperative need for data on irrigation management in Cyprushas led to a turnoff regarding the method of collecting and analyzing irrigation management primary data. The time and money consuming direct measurements of evapotranspiration (ETc), such as Pan-evaporation methods, lysimeters and others, are substituted from efficient energy and ...

Performance of the SEBAL algorithm in estimating flow in watersheds in the Brazilian Savanna

2022
Abstract Studies of the variables making up the radiation balanceare essential in climatology, mainly to understand the dynamics of the hydrologic cycle. Decreases in rainfall can be linked to changes in actual evapotranspiration values on the surface, since changes in land use modify the albedo, the vegetation index, and the surface temperature..

Real-time crop coefficient from SEBAL method for estimating the evapotranspiration

SPIE Proceedings, 2004
Crop coefficients (Kc) are defined as the ratio of actual crop evapotranspiration to the evapotranspiration (Eto) of a grass reference crop, often taken from Penman/Monteith"s methodology. They are used to estimate theoretical crop evapotranspiration (Etc).
