On the Secant method for solving nonsmooth equations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2006
In this study we are concerned with the problem of approximating a locally unique solution of an operator equation in Banach space using the Secant method. The differentiability of the operator involved is not assumed.

Derivative-Free Conformable Iterative Methods for Solving Nonlinear Equations

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2023
In this manuscript, we use approximations of conformable derivatives for designing iterative methods to solve nonlinear algebraic or trascendental equations.

Numerical analysis of the behavior of beam-column precast connections without continuity reinforcement

open access: yesRevista IBRACON de Estruturas e Materiais, 2021
In this paper, the behavior of four beam-column connections in precast structures, without continuity reinforcement, subjected to negative bending moment was analyzed through numerical simulation using the ABAQUS®, which is based on the Finite Element ...

Influence of soil moisture on the deformation properties of soil-crushed stone samples during compression

open access: yesВестник СибАДИ, 2021
Introduction. The purpose of the article is to determine the dependence of the influence of soil moisture and the content of crushed stone in a soil-crushed stone sample on the secant modulus of deformation under uniaxial compression. The need for such a

Analysis of the Performance Measures of a Non-Markovian Fuzzy Queue via Fuzzy Laplace Transforms Method

open access: yesJournal of Computing Research and Innovation, 2022
Laplace transforms play an essential role in the analysis of classical non-Markovian queueing systems. The problem addressed here is whether the Laplace transform approach is still valid for determining the characteristics of such a system in a fuzzy ...

Hybrid Newton-type method for a class of semismooth equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
In this paper, we present a hybrid method for the solution of a class of composite semismooth equations encountered frequently in applications. The method is obtained by combining a generalized finite-difference Newton method to an inexpensive direct ...

A New Secant Type Method with Quadratic-Order Convergence

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics, 2022
Using the development of the second approximation, a variation of the standard secant technique for nonlinear problems has been developed. The iterative formula is created using Taylor series expansion, which includes an estimate of the second derivative of Θ(μ). It is demonstrated that the new approaches have quadratic convergence.

Expanding the applicability of secant method with applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present new sufficient convergence criteria for the convergence of the secant-method to a locally unique solution of a nonlinear equation in a Banach space.

The Secant method for nondifferentiable operators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
In this paper, we use the Secant method to find a solution of a nonlinear operator equation in Banach spaces. A semilocal convergence result is obtained.
