Traveling-Wave Solutions of Several Nonlinear Mathematical Physics Equations

open access: yesMathematics
This paper deals with several nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) of mathematical physics such as the concatenation model (perturbed concatenation model) from nonlinear fiber optics, the plane hydrodynamic jet theory, the Kadomtsev ...

A third-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation: the exact solutions, group-invariant solutions and conservation laws

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2020
In this study, we consider the third order nonlinear Schrödinger equation (TONSE) that models the wave pulse transmission in a time period less than one-trillionth of a second.

Controllable Dynamic Mechanical Cell Stimulation using Magnetically Actuated Artificial Cilia

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This paper introduces a platform based on magnetic artificial cilia for providing controllable dynamic mechanical stimulation to single cells, suitable for investigating large cell populations and enabling live cell imaging. Proof‐of‐principle experiments show that cell morphology is strongly influenced by the artificial cilia, that cellular forces can

Engineered Protein‐Based Ionic Conductors for Sustainable Energy Storage Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Rational incorporation of charged residues into an engineered, self‐assembling protein scaffold yields solid‐state protein films with outstanding ionic conductivity. Salt‐doping further enhances conductivity, an effect amplified in the engineered variants. These properties enable the material integration into an efficient supercapacitor.

Fully decoupled SAV Fourier-spectral scheme for the Cahn–Hilliard–Hele–Shaw system

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
In this paper, we construct first- and second-order fully discrete schemes for the Cahn–Hilliard–Hele–Shaw system based on the Fourier-spectral method for spatial discretization. For temporal discretization, we combine two efficient approaches, including

On Mathematical Modelling of Metals Distribution in Peat Layers

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2014
In this paper we consider averaging and finite difference methods for solving the 3-D boundary-value problem in multilayered domain. We consider the metals Fe and Ca concentration in the layered peat blocks. Using experimental data the mathematical model

Quasilinear second order elliptic systems and topological degree

open access: yes, 2005
We consider a large class of quasilinear second order elliptic systems of the form       - ∑α,β=1N aαβ(x,u(x)),∇u(x))∂2αβu(x) + b(x,u(x),∇u(x)) = 0, where x varies in an unbounded domain Ω of the Euclidean space RN and u = (u1,...,um) is a vector of functions.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

The chaotic behavior and traveling wave solutions of the conformable extended Korteweg–de-Vries model

open access: yesOpen Physics
In this article, the phase portraits, chaotic patterns, and traveling wave solutions of the conformable extended Korteweg–de-Vries (KdV) model are investigated.

3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.
