Second-Order Fast-Slow Stochastic Systems
This paper focuses on systems of nonlinear second-order stochastic differential equations with multi-scales. The motivation for our study stems from mathematical physics and statistical mechanics, for examples, Langevin dynamics and stochastic acceleration in a random environment.

Second-order logic : ontological and epistemological problems
In this thesis I provide a survey over different approaches to second-order logic and its interpretation, and introduce a novel approach. Of special interest are the questions whether (a particular form of) second-order logic can count as logic in some

Partial Eigenvalue Assignment for Gyroscopic Second-Order Systems with Time Delay
In this paper, the partial eigenvalue assignment problem of gyroscopic second-order systems with time delay is considered. We propose a multi-step method for solving this problem in which the undesired eigenvalues are moved to desired values and the ...

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Some results on design of second-order sliding mode controller for nonlinear systems
In this paper the problem of designing a second-order sliding mode controller for nonlinear systems with bounded uncertainties is addressed. The adding a power integrator technique is applied to develop a new second-order sliding mode control algorithm ...

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

ℋ2 sub-optimal model reduction for second-order network systems [PDF]
This paper studies a moment matching model reduction method for second-order network systems. For a given complex second-order network system, our goal is to find a reduced second-order network system that achieves moment matching.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

On the dynamics of second-order Lagrangian systems
In this article we are concerned with improving the twist condition for second-order Lagrangian systems. We characterize a local Twist property and demonstrate how results on the existence of simple closed characteristics can be extended in the case ...
