PVT measurements, virial coefficients, and Joule-Thomson inversion curve of fluorine
Experimental PVT measurements on gaseous and liquid fluorine from the triple point (53.5 K) to 300 K at pressures to about 21 MN/m2 are presented. The data are represented by a truncated virial equation in the low-density region.

Investigation of Thermodynamic Properties of Heavy Metals from Melting and Critical Point Properties [PDF]
A statistical mechanical based equation of state has been employed to calculate the liquid density of lead, mercury, bismuth and lead-bismuth and lead-lithium eutectic alloys. The equation is basically that of Song, Mason and Ihm [Ihm G, Song Y, Mason EA.

Photodynamics of clusters of the major components of the atmosphere
Weakly interacting molecules leading to collisional complexes, and to either stable or metastable dimers, potentially play an important role in molecular and surface physics, in astrophysics, in atmospheric photochemistry and physics, and climate ...

The synthesis and mesomorphic behavior of two chiral side chain liquid crystalline polyacrylates from (S)-(-)-2-methyl-1-butanol are described. These new polyacrylates show a dependence of the phase transition temperatures on both, molecular weight and ...

Second virial coefficients of dipolar hard spheres
An asymptotic formula is reported for the second virial coefficient B2 of a dipolar hard-sphere (DHS) fluid, in zero external field, for strongly coupled dipolar interactions.

Second virial coefficient in one dimension as a function of asymptotic quantities
PTHA result from Dodd and Gibbs (J. Math. Phys., 15, 41 (1974)) for the second virial coefficient of particles in one dimension, subject to delta-function interactions, has been obtained by direct integration of the wave functions.

Measurement of small differences in the second virial coefficient of gases at temperature below 0°C
An apparatus is described which allows measurements of small differences of the second virial coefficient between two gases at low temperatures (90° to 300°K).
