Extract: Meconium, newborn stool, and fetal bile were examined for bile acids by the techniques of gas liquid chromatography, thin layer chromatography and colorimetric spectrometry. Cholic, chenodeoxycholic, deoxycholic, and lithocholic acid were detected in meconium.
