Species richness and phylogenetic structure in plant communities: 20 years of succession [PDF]
Secondary succession on arable fields is a popular system for studying processes influencing community assembly of plants. During early succession, the arrival and establishment of those propagules that can pass the environmental filters operating at ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Metabolomics reveals changes in soil metabolic profiles during vegetation succession in karst area
Soil metabolites are critical in regulating the dynamics of ecosystem structure and function, particularly in fragile karst ecosystems. Clarification of response of soil metabolism to vegetation succession in karst areas will contribute to the overall ...

SUCCESSION DISPUTE OF OBAS IN ISANLU KINGDOM, KOGI STATE AND NATION BUILDING 1971-1975
This paper takes up the challenge of contributing to the succession dispute by looking at the Chieftaincy succession dispute in Isanlu Kogi State. Hitherto these problems were inability of the people to follow guided rules as to who succeed an Oba.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Dynamics and trajectories of secondary succession in Central Amazonia [PDF]
Land use history is a primary driver of secondary succession in the Central Amazon, resulting in the establishment of distinct trajectories differing in structure, composition, biomass and dynamics. Intensive use with prescribed fire to maintain pastures

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Plant functional constraints on foliar N:P ratios in a tropical forest landscape [PDF]
Although large scale analyses of foliar N:P ratios suggest and overall pattern of P limitation in tropical forests, analyses within the biome are less indicative of a consistent pattern of nutrient limitation.
