Acute Kidney Injury After Mechanical Thrombectomy for Stroke in Patients With Pre‐Existing Renal Impairment

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common but often underrecognized complication in ischemic stroke patients undergoing mechanical thrombectomy, particularly among those with pre‐existing renal impairment. This study evaluated the incidence, risk factors, and clinical impact of AKI in this high‐risk population.

On Rate, Secrecy, and Network Connectivity Tradeoffs for Wireless Networks

open access: yesIEEE Communications Letters, 2016
A new approach to the characterization of network connectivity under transmission rate and secrecy constraints is proposed, based on a rate-secrecy graph model. The proposed model is based on an information theoretic framework, and rate-distortion requirements are used to characterize the level of secrecy for individual links in the network.

Delay and secrecy: Does industry sponsorship jeopardize disclosure of academic research? [PDF]

open access: yes
The viability of modern open science norms and practices depend on public disclosure of new knowledge, methods, and materials. Aggregate data from the OECD show a broad shift in the institutional financing structure that supports academic research from ...

Prodromal Lewy Body Disorder Features in REM Sleep Behavior Disorder With Biomarker‐Defined Synucleinopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Isolated rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) is a prodromal state for Lewy body disorders and exhibits biological heterogeneity that may influence clinical expression and progression. We examined clinical features in individuals with iRBD and biomarker‐defined synucleinopathy.

Comprehensive Assessment of Arterial, Tissue, and Venous Collaterals for Evaluating the Infarct Growth Rate: The Multimodal Collateral Score

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Collaterals are crucial factors that influence the infarct growth rate (IGR). We aimed to determine whether a comprehensive multimodal collateral score (MCS), incorporating collateral assessment at the arterial, tissue, and venous levels, is associated with functional independence and provides incremental prognostic value over ...

Incentives from Exchange Rate Regimes in an Institutional Context [PDF]

open access: yes
In a simple open economy macromodel, calibrated to the typical institutions and shocks of a densely populated emerging market economy, it is shown that a monetary stimulus preceding a temporary supply shock can abort inflation at minimum output cost ...

Secure Communication in Millimeter Wave Relaying Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The use of relay can expand the coverage of millimeter-wave (mmWave) signals, whereas it may increase the risk of information leakage due to the additional link from source to relay.

Monetary policy, secrecy, and federal funds rate behavior [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Monetary Economics, 1985
Abstract The behavior of the Federal Reserve System can be characterized as secretive. One common justification for this secrecy is the financial markets will overreact to information, causing undue variability in interest rates. This paper examines the credibility of this assertion under the post-October 1979 non-borrowed reserves operating ...

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.
