[Structure and secretory functions of the respiratory epithelium].

Archives internationales de physiologie, de biochimie et de biophysique, 1992
Airway secretions actively participate in respiratory epithelium protection. Apart from its main participation in transport of inhaled microorganisms and particles by mucociliary clearance, respiratory mucus also contributes to other protective purposes such as the control of airway humidification.

Secretory Compartments as Instances of Dynamic Self-Evolving Structures

Acta Biotheoretica, 2002
Biological objects are often "constructive dynamic systems" whose structures evolve as a consequence of their internal dynamics, which in turn is affected by the overall structure. As very few tools are presently adapted to tackle constructive dynamic systems, they constitute fascinating challenges for modeling/simulation.

Structural Basis of Adenohypophyseal Secretory Processes

1980
The cellular and molecular mechanisms that direct the synthesis and release of adenohypophyseal hormones cannot be discussed without taking account of the structural organization of the corresponding cells. Indeed, structure and function represent two aspects of an integrated system: the living cell.
