A key factor in limiting global warming is the conversion of conventional electricity generation to renewable energy sources. However, a major obstacle is that renewable energy generation and energy demand often do not coincide in time, and energy must ...

On the supersymmetric vacua of the Veneziano-Wosiek model [PDF]
We study the supersymmetric vacua of the Veneziano-Wosiek model in sectors with fermion number F=2, 4 at finite 't Hooft coupling lambda. We prove that for F=2 there are two zero energy vacua for lambda > lambda_c = 1 and none otherwise.

Why human connection is the true metric of research success
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Perturbations of Schwarzschild black holes in Dynamical Chern-Simons modified gravity
Dynamical Chern-Simons (DCS) modified gravity is an attractive, yet relatively unexplored, candidate to an alternative theory of gravity. The DCS correction couples a dynamical scalar field to the gravitational field.

Supersymmetry-Breaking Loops from Analytic Continuation into Superspace [PDF]
We extend to all orders in perturbation theory a method to calculate supersymmetry-breaking effects by analytic continuation of the renormalization group into superspace.

Maximal temperature of strongly-coupled dark sectors
Abstract Taking axion inflation as an example, we estimate the maximal temperature (Tmax) that can be reached in the post-inflationary universe, as a function of the confinement scale of a non-Abelian dark sector (ΛIR). Below a certain threshold ΛIR< Λ0 ∼ 2 × 10−8mpl, the system heats up to Tmax ∼ Λ0 > Tc, and a first-order ...

This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

To provide an effective energy transition, hydrogen is required to decarbonize the hard-to-abate industries. As a case study, this paper provides a holistic view of the hydrogen energy transition in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

An Exploratory study of Higgs-boson pair production [PDF]
Higgs-boson pair production is well known being capable to probe the trilinear self-coupling of the Higgs boson, which is one of the important ingredients of the Higgs sector itself. Pair production then depends on the top-quark Yukawa coupling $g_t^{S,P}
