Representative Percentile Curves of Physical Fitness From Early Childhood to Early Adulthood: The MoMo Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health, 2020
Introduction: Monitoring of physical fitness in youth is important because physical fitness is a summative indicator of health. From a developmental and preventive perspective, physical fitness levels are relatively stable from childhood to early ...

Transformation of a Silicate Material for Carbon Negative Magnesia‐Based Cement via Electrochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The transformation of a magnesium trisilicate material via water electrolysis into precursor phases necessary for magnesium‐based M‐S‐H cement is explored. The dissolution of the material mediated electrochemically is monitored, and the analysis of the resulting phases indicate their suitability as effective precursors for M‐S‐H cement.

Multiple solutions and periodic oscillations in nonlinear diffusion processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
We study the oscillatory stationary states in the temperature and concentration fields occurring in tubular chemical reactors. Singular perturbation and multitime scale procedures are combined formally to clearly and simply reveal the mechanism ...

Secular Stagnation and Decline: A Simplified Model [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2014
Presented is a mathematical model of single-product economy describing a nominal economic growth and a nominal economic decline. Based on the model of economic dynamics, policies handling the gravity of the secular stagnation are furnished. First, transition of the secular stagnation into the secular decline is to be prevented.

Therapeutic Repair of Sperm Quality Decline Caused by Polytetrafluoroethylene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exposure to PTFE (teflon), a commonly used microplastic in non‐stick cookware, significantly reduces sperm quality in both humans and mice. Specifically, PTFE induces the disruption of sperm cytoskeleton and F‐actin assembly through targeting SKAP2 in haploid spermatid.

In Situ Structural Evolution and Activity Descriptor of Atomically Dispersed Catalysts During Nitrate Electroreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The in situ evolution of single‐atom catalysts to metallic nanoclusters during nitrate electroreduction is demonstrated. A direct correlation between the OH binding energy on the metallic clusters and ammonia production rate is established as a key activity descriptor, explaining the superior performance of Ni and Co catalysts.
