Melatonin Promotes Improvement in Serum Lipid Levels and Liver Histopathology in Hyperlipidemic Rats

open access: yesLipids, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia is the term used for the increase in lipid levels in blood plasma, usually occurring due to a high‐fat diet associated with a sedentary lifestyle. The increase in lipid levels can cause fatty infiltration in the liver known as hepatic steatosis, which can lead to inflammation, fibrosis, and necrosis consecutively.

White Adipose Tissue Browning and Cross Talk With Metabolic Diseases and Tumors: From Molecular Mechanisms to Clinical Translation

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
White adipose tissue undergoes browning under endogenous and exogenous stimuli, primarily regulated by core molecules such as PRDM16 and UCP1. It exhibits a double‐edged sword effect in metabolic diseases and tumors: while mitigating metabolic disease impacts and suppressing early‐stage tumors through nutritional competition, it may accelerate cachexia

Wearable Movement‐Tracking for Prodromal Parkinson's Disease Detection: A Cross‐Country Validation Study

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Models trained on accelerometer data have been proposed for detecting prodromal Parkinson's disease (PD). However, uncertainties in diagnosis timing in the UK Biobank (UKBB) may affect generalizability to other cohorts. Objectives The aim of the study was to evaluate the performance of previously published models for prodromal PD ...

Digital Phenotyping and Lifestyle Intervention in Patients With Myasthenia Gravis (DIG‐MG): A Randomized Controlled Trial of Feasibility, Adherence, and Effects on Fatigue

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Physical activity and sleep influence fatigue in myasthenia gravis (MG), and digital health technologies (DHT) enable objective monitoring of these behaviors in daily life. Using this approach, we evaluated whether a lifestyle intervention targeting physical activity or sleep hygiene could reduce fatigue in MG.
