Stabilization of Strongly Reduced Fe(I) Single Atom Species Coordinated in a 2D Self‐Assembled Metal–Organic Network

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A graphene‐supported 2D metal–organic network stabilizes highly reactive Fe(I)‐N4 single sites through Co‐induced charge redistribution. Combined experiments and theory reveal Fe(I) formation, oxygen‐driven oxidation, and O2 activation mechanisms, offering a strategy to access low‐valent iron centers relevant to catalytic and biological processes ...

Engineering a Fluorinated AlPO4 Interface: Toward High Initial Coulombic Efficiency and Stable Oxygen Redox in Li‐Rich Layered Oxide Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a chemically incorporated fluorinated AlPO4 (AlPO4‐F) architecture that functions as a multifunctional “interfacial fortress” for Li‐rich layered oxides (LLOs). By modulating the surface potential to –32.16 mV, this architecture enriches Li+ concentration and repels detrimental electrolyte anions.

Guanosine‐Quadruplex Hydrogels as Dynamic, Mechanically Tunable and Ion Conductive 3D Scaffolds for Cell Culture Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Versatile guanosine‐quadruplex (GQ) hydrogels are developed as dynamic biomatrices for cell culture. These scaffolds are fabricated under mild aqueous conditions, present improved stability, tunable mechanical properties within physiological ranges; fibrillar, porous microstructure, ion conductivity, and cytocompatibility.

Macrobrachium amazonicum: an alternative for microbiological monitoring of aquatic environments in Brazil

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2014
This study aimed to evaluate the role of the Amazon River prawn, Macrobrachium amazonicum, as carrier of Candida spp., by analyzing the correlation between Candida spp. from these prawns and their environment (surface water and sediment), through M13-PCR

High-frequency spatial sediment source fingerprinting using in situ absorbance data

open access: yes
Sediment fingerprinting is a commonly applied approach to quantify catchment suspended sediment (SS) source contributions. However, due to the high workloads and costs involved in SS sampling and laboratory analyses, traditional procedures often result ...

Multidimensional‐Encoded High‐Fidelity Spectrometers With a Floating‐Base Bipolar Junction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A floating‐base bipolar junction photodetector enables multidimensional spectral encoding through synergistic gate‐ and drain‐bias modulation of interfacial barrier matching. The resulting complementary spectral responses form a diverse, weakly correlated response matrix, enabling robust and high‐fidelity spectral reconstruction even at sub‐nanoampere ...

Opportunities and Prospects of Suspended Sediment Source Tracing for Urban Catchment Management

open access: yesВодное хозяйство России: проблемы, технологии, управление
Reducing river pollution by suspended sediments can be achieved by assessing the contribution of different sources. In Russia, this approach is only starting to develop, while in many other countries it is already an important part of urban water ...
