Shipboard measurements of sediment stability using a small annular flume—Core Mini Flume (CMF) [PDF]
Estimates of bed stability in coastal environments are essential to physical, biological, and chemical investigations of cohesive sediments. The Core Mini Flume (CMF), a 200 mm diameter annular flume has been designed to undertake sediment stability ...

This study presents a sustainable smart‐coating strategy for protecting underground steel infrastructures from chloride‐induced corrosion. Zinc‐aluminum layered double hydroxides (LDHs) and tannin‐loaded LDHs (LDH–TA) were incorporated into an epoxy matrix to provide both enhanced barrier properties and active, pH‐responsive inhibition.

In slowly deforming tectonic settings (e.g., European Alps), large earthquakes occur too infrequently to be adequately represented in instrumental and historical records. This leads to uncertainties and inaccuracies of seismic hazard estimations.

Post-depositional formation of vivianite-type minerals alters sediment phosphorus records [PDF]
Phosphorus (P) concentrations in sediments are frequently used to reconstruct past environmental conditions in freshwater and marine systems, with high values thought to be indicative of a high biological productivity.

Coupled dissolution‐reprecipitation of early formed Cd‐, Fe‐, Ag‐ and Sb‐poor sphalerite through interaction with high‐temperature and high‐sulphur fugacity Cu‐rich fluids, responsible for the formation of the yellow ores, resulted in the formation of Cd‐, Fe‐, Ag‐ and Sb‐rich, heavily chalcopyrite‐diseased sphalerite and enrichment of critical metals ...
