Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Fate of metals in coastal sediments of a Mediterranean flood-dominated system: An approach based on total and labile fractions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The dynamics of sediment-bound metals (Cs, Cu, Ni, Pb, Ti and Zn) were studied off the Têt River (western Gulf of Lion), a typical Mediterranean coastal river punctuated by short and violent flash-floods.

A review of geophysical studies on the Mongolian Plateau

open access: yesEarthquake Science
The Mongolian Plateau in Central Asia is an intracontinental tectonic system far from active plate boundaries. Despite its distance from these boundaries, the plateau is characterized by intense crustal deformation accompanied by voluminous Cenozoic ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Pore water chemistry and early diagenesis in sediments of Lake Rotorua, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
To gain an understanding of the transfer of nutrients and trace elements from sediment pore waters to surface waters of eutrophic Lake Rotorua and the early diagenetic processes controlling the transfer, pore water chemistry in the sediments of Lake ...

Microbial Colonization of Minerals in Marine Sediments – Method Development and Ecological Significance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Interactions between microorganisms and minerals significantly impact microbial diversity and geochemical cycles in diverse settings. However, methodological difficulty has inhibited past study of microbe–mineral interactions in fine-grained subsurface ...

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

Terrestrial organic matter biomarkers as tracers of Hg sources in lake sediments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Terrestrial organic matter (TOM) plays a key role in mercury (Hg) dynamics between watersheds and lakes. In this study we attempts to determine the role of TOM source and quality and not only quantity, in the fate and transport of total Hg (T-Hg) to ...
