Decomposing Shadow Prices Under Climate‐Driven Growth Scenarios: Insights From an Elk Herd Case Study

open access: yesNatural Resource Modeling, Volume 39, Issue 2, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Natural capital accounting provides a framework for integrating ecological processes with economic valuation, but the mechanics of shadow price formation often remain opaque to resource managers and policymakers. Using the Clarks Fork elk herd in northwestern Wyoming as a case study, we decompose the shadow price of natural capital into its ...

Types of Capital and Their Measurement

open access: yesReview of Income and Wealth, Volume 72, Issue 2, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Capital is notoriously heterogeneous, including physical, intangible, human and natural capitals, and this heterogeneity can make measurement very difficult. To bring structure to the wide range of capital assets, and inform measurement, we define five dimensions for classifying capital types: produced versus non‐produced; fixed versus non ...

Effect of PWHT and Electrical Parameters on Austenitic Phase, Sigma Phase and Corrosion in Duplex Steels S32205

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
Welding power and post‐weld heat treatment (PWHT) at 850°C influence phase transformations in S32205 duplex stainless steel, promoting sigma phase formation and reducing corrosion resistance. PWHT at 850°C also replicates HAZ‐like microstructures in base metal, enabling improved characterization of weld joint properties.

Compartmental Modeling of Woodland Ecosystem Services for Evaluating Urban Natural Capital in Sustainable Cities

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
Proposed engineering data governance model for ecosystem services within the context of natural capital and sustainable cities, using woodland as a case study. This model is inspired by the generalized natural capital logic chain outlined by Natural England, supported by insights from the Office for National Statistics report and aligned with the ...
