Development and deployment of a risk assessment index as a decision‐support tool for managing whitefly‐transmitted viruses affecting squash

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
A data‐driven framework identified planting date and row cover as dominant drivers of whitefly‐transmitted virus complex (WTVC) risk in squash. Integration into the SquashRx mobile application enables real‐time risk assessment and supports improved decision‐making for integrated pest management.

Mating history shapes Wolbachia‐induced cytoplasmic incompatibility and female fitness in an insect pest

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Mating order and remating of females by males with different endosymbiont associations strongly shape Wolbachia‐induced cytoplasmic incompatibility, female fitness and offspring sex ratio. An incompatible first mating was weakly affected if followed by a compatible mating and vice versa, indicating strong first‐male sperm precedence with consequences ...

Chlorantraniliprole: bioactivation in coffee seedlings and control of resistant Leucoptera coffeella populations

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Chlorantraniliprole enhanced growth and biomass in coffee seedlings infested by susceptible Leucoptera coffeella, while resistant populations limited its insecticidal performance. These findings emphasize both the bioactivator potential of chlorantraniliprole and the challenges of managing resistance in coffee leaf miner control.

Influence of Potassium Rates and Sources on Seed Cotton Yield and Yield Components of Some Elite Cotton Cultivars

Journal of Plant Nutrition, 2005
Abstract A field experiment was conducted at Central Cotton Research Institute, Multan, Pakistan on Miani soil series, silt loam soil (Calcaric, Cambisols and fine silty, mixed Hyperthermic Fluventic Haplocambids) to assess the response of four cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) cultivars to potassium (K) fertilization.

Seed-Cotton Ultrasound Properties for Yield Measurement

2001 Sacramento, CA July 29-August 1,2001, 2001
Two ultrasonic transducers were installed through cutout holes on opposite walls of a chamber. The materials under investigation (samples) were put between the transducers inside a sensing zone in three different elevations. Results of the experiment indicated that there were relationships between acoustical energy and mass of the material.

Influence of Foliar Nutrition on Seed Cotton Yield and Quality of Bt Cotton

Madras Agricultural Journal, 2012
A field experiment was conducted from August 2008 to January 2009 at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore to find out the influence of foliar application of nutrition on yield attributes, yield and fibre quality of Bt cotton. The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design (RBD), replicated thrice. The treatments were T 1 - Urea - (1.

Influence of higher levels of NPK on seed cotton yield, seed yield and seed quality characters of cotton cv. MCU 5 and hybrid TCHB 213

Madras Agricultural Journal, 2001
The variety MCU 5 and hybrid TCHB 213 both responded well for heavy doses of fertilizer levels, eventhough the response to fertilizers was felt much in MCU 5 than TCHB 213. Comparatively more seed cotton yield and seed yield were obtained by a fertilizer dose of 200:150:100 NPK kg ha'.

Effect of different herbicides on growth and yield attributes and seed cotton yield inhirsutumcotton

Research on Crops, 2016
A field experiment was conducted during kharif seasons of 2012 and 2014 at C. S. Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur to study the effect of different uses of herbicides on growth and yield attributes and seed cotton yield in hirsutum cotton. Data indicated that application of pendimethalin @ 1 kg a. i./ha as PE+quizalofopethyl @ 50 g a.

Effects of Cultivation after Planting on Yields of Seed Cotton

PANS Pest Articles & News Summaries, 1971
Abstract Experiments carried out over several seasons showed that, on a soil prone to crusting, cultivations after the establishment of a cotton crop only increased yields in a season of low rainfall. This yield increase appeared to have been due to enhanced entry into the soil of the limited effective rainfall.
