Report on identifying a protocol to elicit flowering in Brachiaria humidicola with photoperiod management [PDF]
Two Genotypes of Brachiaria humidicola (A and B) were planted on the grounds of CIAT headquarters in Palmira during 2018 – 2019, 10 lamps were placed in the lot to evaluate 6 different photoperiods (1 - 6) with Light in 2 different wavelength range (W.R.)

Seed weight, seed vigor index and field emergence in six upland cotton cultivars.
In regions where a short growing season is combined with low soil temperatures at sowing, field emergence and stand establishment is one of the most critical stages in cotton production. This study evaluates the relations between seed weight, seed vigor index and field emergence on 6 upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) genotypes, grown at Alentejo ...

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

A method for genotyping elite breeding stocks of leaf chicory (Cichorium intybus L.) by assaying mapped microsatellite marker loci [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Leaf chicory (Cichorium intybus subsp. intybus var. foliosum L.) is a diploid plant species (2n = 18) of the Asteraceae family. The term "chicory" specifies at least two types of cultivated plants: a leafy vegetable, which is highly ...

The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

SAPL®: a free software for determining the physiological potential in soybean seeds
Obtaining image-based information is a powerful approach to capture and quantify seed vigor data. However, commercial systems that facilitate the processing and acquisition of images are often cost prohibitive. This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency
