A Guide to Planting Wildflower Enhancements in Florida

open access: yesEDIS, 2017
The establishment of native wildflower plantings in Florida can benefit agricultural producers as well as native pollinators and other beneficial insects (predators and parasitoids).

Temperature Field Evolution of Seeding during Directional Solidification of Single-Crystal Ni-Based Superalloy Castings

open access: yesMetals, 2022
By combined numerical simulations and unidirectional solidification experiments, the temperature field evolution of seeding for nickel-based single-crystal superalloys was studied.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Testing site selection for seeding trials using hatchery reared juvenile Haliotis mariae Wood, 1828 along the western Dhofar coast, Arabian Sea, Sultanate of Oman [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2015
In order to test site selection and seeding methodology hatchery reared juvenile Haliotis mariae with an average shell-length 30-52 mm were seeded along the Dhofar coast during the winter months of the NE monsoon.

Inhibition of synucleinopathic seeding by rationally designed inhibitors

open access: yeseLife, 2020
Seeding, in the context of amyloid disease, is the sequential transfer of pathogenic protein aggregates from cell-to-cell within affected tissues. The structure of pathogenic seeds provides the molecular basis and enables rapid conversion of soluble ...

Heirloom Spring Wheat Seeding Rate Trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
University of Vermont Extension began its heirloom spring wheat project in 2007 to determine whether heirloom varieties developed before 1950 could thrive in Vermont’s climate.

Adhesive and mechanical regulation of mesenchymal stem cell differentiation in human bone marrow and periosteum-derived progenitor cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
It has previously been demonstrated that cell shape can influence commitment of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hBMCs) to adipogenic, osteogenic, chondrogenic, and other lineages.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
