Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Compensating damage effects of seed-borne Fusarium culmorum and Microdochium nivale in winter wheat by increased seeding rates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Fusarium culmorum and Microdochium nivale are considered important seed-borne diseases of wheat in Denmark. Their damage effects consist in reducing seed germination and plant emergence which leads to reduced plant density, panicle numbers/area and yield.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Field performance optimization and experimental study of an integrated mobile platform for precision rice seeding operations

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Food Systems
ObjectiveDirect-seeded rice in Northeast China’s cold regions demands extremely high seeding quality, but black soil adhesion and low-temperature environments cause existing seeding technologies to fail.

Influence of seeding rates seeds at exit standard seedlings pine in indoor growing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Investigations to determine the output of standard pine seedlings at different seeding rate of pine seeds in the greenhouse conditions. For the cultivation of seedlings it was used as a substrate of peat bogs transition milling work piece with a dose of ...

Row Spacing with Variable Seeding Rates

open access: yes, 2008
Current row widths employed by producers typically vary from 15 in. to 38 in., with most producers at 30 in. today. Yet more and more acres are being converted to narrower row widths(most often 15 in. or 20 in.). Numerous advantages exist with narrower row widths.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Seeding densities and productivity of rice cultivars in the West Border of Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Gaúcha, 2014
The objective of this work was to study the influence of different seeding rates and cultivars over flooded rice yield at the west border of Rio Grande do Sul State. The experimental design was a randomized blocks with four replicates.
