The Analysis and Interpretation of Seedling Recruitment Curves [PDF]
We present statistical methods appropriate for the analysis of seedling recruitment data. The techniques are applied to the data collected by H. A. Roberts and his colleagues. The main result of this analysis is that seed banks do not in general decay according to a negative exponential pattern and that a wide range of recruitment patterns occur.

Herbivores reduce seedling recruitment in alpine plant communities [PDF]
Through changes in climate and other environmental factors, alpine tundra ecosystems are subject to increased cover of erect shrubs, reduced predictability of rodent dynamics and changes in wild and domesticated herbivore densities.

Seedling recruitment can be strongly affected by the composition of nearby plant species. At the neighborhood scale (on the order of tens of meters), adult conspecifics can modify soil chemistry and the presence of host microbes (pathogens and mutualists)

Tracking Animal-Dispersed Seedlings Using 15N Xylem Injection Method
Although various seed-marking methods have been developed for seed dispersal, it remains difficult to track the actual patterns of seed dispersal and seedling recruitment. Thus, new labeling methods that accurately track seedling establishment along with

Unraveling the wheel of recruitment for salt-marsh seedlings: Resistance to and recovery after dislodgement [PDF]
Elucidating bottlenecks at critical life stages and quantifying associated resilience (including resistance and recovery) to physical processes are central in inform restoration and attain sustainable development of coastal biogeomorphic ecosystems. Seedling establishment is a key life stage determines saltmarsh restoration potentials.

Plant community diversity is conducive to maintain the regional ecosystems stability and ecosystem services. Seed germination is one of the main ways to regulate plant diversity, owing to seedling recruitment as a basis for plant community renewal ...

Population dynamics of a long-lived alpine plant with sexual and clonal reproduction [PDF]
This thesis focuses on the demography, reproduction, and pre-dispersal seed predation of the alpine clonal plant Geum reptans. In chapter 2, I studied the population dynamics of G.
