Habitat filtering masks the detection of phylogenetic and functional density dependence on seedling survival across seasons in a subtropical forest, Southwestern China

open access: yesEcological Processes
Background Negative density dependence and habitat filtering are crucial mechanisms driving species coexistence and community assembly. However, empirical evidence regarding how habitat filtering interacts with density dependence remains limited ...

Symbiotic Germination Technique of an Endangered Epiphytic Orchid Dendrobium sinominutiflorum: A Promising Conservation Application 濒危附生兰科植物勐海石斛 (Dendrobium sinominutiflorum) 的共生萌发技术:一种具有应用前景的保护策略

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, EarlyView.
We developed an effective ex‐situ conservation approach for an endangered orchid species, Dendrobium sinominutiflorum. A compatible fungal strain Tulasnella sp. was obtained by using in‐situ seed baiting technique. The Symbiotic germination with Tulasnella sp. significantly promotes seed germination and seedling growth.

Drought Risk in Mango and Avocado Orchards: Insights Into Plant Water Relations and Irrigation‐Related Agronomic Solutions

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Climate change is making water availability more uncertain, with growing consequences for the productivity and long‐term sustainability of tropical and subtropical fruit orchards. Mangifera indica L. and Persea americana Mill. both require large amounts of water to sustain growth and productivity.

Effects of varied inundation characteristics on early life stages of a salt marsh plant

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Tidal inundation is a major stress in salt marshes that regulates the patterns of plant distribution and the associated functions provided by vegetation communities.
