Hair Follicle Seedling Cryomicroneedles from Hierarchical Microfluidic Organoid on a Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this paper, a hierarchical microfluidic chip is developed to produce uniform hair follicle organoids (HFOs) in cryomicroneedles. Cryopreservation agents encapsulate HFOs, preserving viability and hair growth potential. The cryomicroneedles enable simple intradermal transplantation with good skin penetration.

Effects of Foliar Application of Gibberellic Acid on the Salt Tolerance of Tomato and Sweet Pepper Transplants

open access: yesHorticulturae, 2020
Seed germination and early seedling growth are the plant growth stages most sensitive to salt stress. Thus, the availability of poor-quality brackish water can be a big limiting factor for the nursery vegetable industry.

Influence of salicylic acid on phytochelatin synthesis in Zea mays during Cd stress

open access: yes, 2013
: Presoaking maize (Zea mays) seeds in salicylic acid (SA) reduces damage caused by cadmium. In the present work the possible role of phytochelatins (PCs) in SA-mediated protection against Cd toxicity was investigated. Seeds were presoaked in 0.5 mM SA,

Closed‐Loop Radiative Cooling Mulch Upcycled From Agricultural Residues for Efficient Soil Heat–Water Stress Mitigation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conventional passive radiative cooling films rely on costly feedstocks and energy‐intensive fabrication, with poor end‐of‐life compatibility in agriculture. To address this challenge, a sustainable radiative cooling mulch (SRCM) is developed from waste maize leaves via spontaneous hydrogen‐bond self‐assembly.

Potent endogenous allelopathic compounds in Lepidium sativum seed exudate: effects on epidermal cell growth in Amaranthus caudatus seedlings

open access: yes, 2012
Many plants exude allelochemicals – compounds that affect the growth of neighbouring plants. This study reports further studies of the reported effect of cress (Lepidium sativum) seed(ling) exudates on seedling growth in Amaranthus caudatus and Lactuca ...

A Conserved DT2‐bZIP66‐NF‐YC4 Regulatory Module Confers Drought Tolerance in Rice and Arabidopsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a conserved tripartiteDT2–bZIP66–NF‐YC4 transcriptional module that enhances rice drought tolerance by activating stress‐responsive genes. This regulatory complex is functionally conserved across cereals and Arabidopsis, providing promising targets for engineering drought‐resilient crops. ABSTRACT Drought stress severely restricts

In Situ Cercidiphyllum-like Seedlings from the Paleocene of Alberta, Canada.

open access: yes, 1983
Fossil seedlings and seeds of an extinct Cercidiphyllum-like plant occur in the Paskapoo Formation (Late Paleocene) at Joffre Bridge near Red Deer, Alberta. Cotyledon and early seedling leaf stages are preserved in growth position.

From Defense Executor to Engineering Target: Harnessing Lignin for Crop Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lignin serves as both a physical and chemical executor of broad‐spectrum plant immunity. This review systematically summarizes classical and recent advances in lignin‐mediated immunity, outlines the multifaceted regulatory modules controlling lignification under biotic stress, discusses key physiological and biochemical mechanisms behind lignin‐based ...

Simulation and Optimization Experiment of Seven-Link Planting Mechanism Based on Discrete Element Method and Multibody Dynamics (DEM–MBD) Coupling

open access: yesAgriEngineering
To address issues in traditional vegetable transplanter planting mechanisms such as poor hole-forming quality and low seedling uprightness, a seven-bar linkage planting mechanism with posture compensation of seedling entering soil was designed.
