The Random Effects of the Seepage Field on the Slope Reliability
Key Engineering Materials, 2005Proposed in this paper is an analyzing model for the slope reliability taking the random effects of the seepage field of groundwater and the dependent factors into consideration. Taking the Circle Slice Method as its base of mechanical analyses for the stability of a slope, the model can analyze the movement of groundwater by using BEM and calculate ...

Field evaluation of a polymer sealant for canal seepage reduction
Agricultural Water Management, 2021Abstract A large amount of the water diverted for irrigated agriculture seeps from earthen canals during its conveyance to fields. Besides a shortfall in water availability, a variety of environmental and economic damages are caused by canal seepage.

Field tests and model analyses of seepage into drift
Journal of Contaminant Hydrology, 1999Abstract This paper focuses on field test results and model analyses of the first set of five niche seepage tests conducted in the Exploratory Studies Facility at Yucca Mountain. The test results suggest that (1) a niche opening (short drift excavated for this study) acts as a capillary barrier; (2) a seepage threshold exists; and (3) the seepage is ...

Simulation of the Seepage Field in the Danjiangkou Reservoir Area
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011According to the geological conditions of the Danjiangkou reservoir, the computational model was set up considering fracture zones and the changing along the depth of mechanical properties of rock. Adopting this model, the seepage field of the reservoir area was simulated for long time, which shows that: 1) The medium and small earthquakes in the ...

Coupling Law of Mixed Gas Seepage Field and Concentration Field in Goaf
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2011Gas permeability affects the flow pattern of whole goaf gas and leakage airflow. Mathematical model of goaf gas flow has been improved in this paper by adding space distribution equations of porosity porosity and gas permeability in goaf. Coupling law of mixed gas 3D seepage field and concentration field in goaf has been studied.

Seepage in Field Geology and Petroleum Exploration
2015Rock permeability to gas and a gas source are the basic preconditions for gas seepage. Seepage can then provide information regarding the location and nature of the source and the migration pathway. In the modern fossil fuel industry, natural hydrocarbon seepage provided the first clues for petroleum and natural gas explorations.

Analytical Solutions for Seepage Field of Underwater Tunnel
2018Based on the patterns of the hydraulic head outside the lining layer obtained from numerical simulation, a new boundary condition for the tunnel is proposed that the hydraulic head appears sinusoidal distribution on the lining’s external circumference.

Field Evaluation of Seepage Meters in the Coastal Marine Environment
Estuarine, Coastal and Shelf Science, 1997The response of seepage meters was evaluated in a nearshore marine environment where water motion effects are more pronounced than in lake settings, where these meters have been used traditionally. Temporal and spatial variations of seepage, as well as potential artifacts, were evaluated using empty and 1000-ml pre-filled bag measurements.

Geoelectric Field Response to Seepage in Sand and Clay Formations
Journal of Hydrologic Engineering, 2019AbstractAn understanding of groundwater flow in soil and rocks is necessary for civil and environmental engineering. Real-time monitoring of groundwater flow is a relatively new research area.
