We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Classification in segmented regression problems
Heterogeneity in many datasets stems from the different behaviors of several underlying groups or subpopulations. The aim of this paper is to classify observations in such a dataset into these latent groups when each group's behavior is piecewise ...

Parameter Estimation in Linear-Linear Segmented Regression
Segmented regression is a type of nonlinear regression that allows differing functional forms to be fit over different ranges of the explanatory variable.

A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Akaike’s Information Criterion for Simple and Segmented Regression Analyses: Puget Sound Scale.
Akaike’s Information Criterion corrected for small sample sizes (AICc), calculated for two regression models (simple and segmented) in six habitat areas, at the Puget Sound scale. The difference in AICc (where Δ AICc = simple AICc—segmented AICc) is also

Functionally graded metal–ceramic femoral stems are engineered through continuous UMAT‐based stiffness tailoring, eliminating discrete material interfaces while enhancing biomechanical compatibility. Low‐index power‐law gradation optimizes load transfer, reduces stress shielding, and controls implant–bone micromotion, highlighting a materials‐design ...

Fabrication Routes for Ionic Conducting Fiber Strain Sensors
Ionic conducting fiber strain sensors (ICFSs) offer compliant, textile‐integrable sensing. Thus far, the commercialization of ICFSs has been constrained by fiber fabrication routes. This review provides a fabrication‐centric analysis of ICFSs correlating processing strategies with material properties and scalability.
