SEISMIC ANALYSIS OF FRAMES WITH SEMI-RIGID CONNECTIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH EC8
Up to date research has pointed out that most of the structural connections of reinforced concrete (RC) frames, particularly precast ones, behave as semi-rigid.

Numerical analysis of seismic wave amplification in Nice (France) and comparisons with experiments [PDF]
The analysis of site effects is very important since the amplification of seismic motion in some specific areas can be very strong. In this paper, the site considered is located in the centre of Nice on the French Riviera.

Seismic reliability assessment of classical columns subjected to near-fault ground motions [PDF]
A methodology for the performance-based seismic risk assessment of classical columns is presented. Despite their apparent instability, classical columns are, in general, earthquake resistant, as proven from the fact that many classical monuments have ...

A new seismic analysis of Alpha Centauri [PDF]
Models of alpha Cen A & B have been computed using the masses determined by Pourbaix et al. (2002) and the data derived from the spectroscopic analysis of Neuforge and Magain (1997).

Time-frequency representation of earthquake accelerograms and inelastic structural response records using the adaptive chirplet decomposition and empirical mode decomposition [PDF]
In this paper, the adaptive chirplet decomposition combined with the Wigner-Ville transform and the empirical mode decomposition combined with the Hilbert transform are employed to process various non-stationary signals (strong ground motions and ...

Microlocal analysis of borehole seismic data
Borehole seismic data is obtained by receivers located in a well, with sources located on the surface or another well. Using microlocal analysis, we study possible approximate reconstruction via linearized, filtered backprojection of an isotropic sound speed in the subsurface for three types of data sets.

SEISMIC ANALYSIS OF A SOIL SLOPE TO DEVELOP CORRELATIONS FOR FACTOR OF SAFETY CONSIDERING HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL SEISMIC COEFFICIENTS [PDF]
Seismic analysis of soil slopes is required to get safe value for slope design. Especially in earthquake zones. Normally a variation in factor of safety values is observed in normal analysis of a slope where seismic coefficients are kept zero as compare ...
