Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment of Sweden
Sweden is a low-seismicity, stable continental region where seismic hazard assessment is non-trivial. Diffuse seismicity, low seismicity rate, few large magnitude earthquakes and little strong motion data makes it difficult to estimate recurrence parameters and determine appropriate attenuation relationships.

Redescription of the Triassic cynodont Cistecynodon parvus and reassessment of its phylogeny
Abstract Cynodontia is an important subclade of Therapsida that first occurred in the late Permian. It includes extinct subclades which are the non‐mammaliaform cynodonts and Mammaliaformes, with the latter ultimately giving rise to crown mammals. The systematics of non‐mammaliaform cynodonts has been extensively studied and is relatively well‐resolved,

Applying spectral decomposition to seismic facies clustering with unsupervised machine learning
Seismic facies analysis, essential for subsurface geological exploration, has traditionally challenged the ability to capture subtle variations in complex stratigraphic environments.

The paper presents a proposed framework to optimize the tuned mass damper (TMD) design, useful for seismic improvement of slender masonry structures. A historical masonry chimney located in northern Italy was considered to illustrate the proposed TMD ...

ABSTRACT Medieval and early modern drowned villages in the intertidal zone of the Scheldt estuary (the Netherlands) constitute intriguing yet largely understudied components of north‐western Europe's underwater cultural heritage. Despite their high archaeological potential as time capsules of past settlement landscapes, research has remained limited ...

Seismic assessment of reinforced concrete buildings using fragility curve [PDF]
Fragility curves are usually used to determine the vulnerability of structures. But defining failure criteria is of great importance in seismic vulnerability which probability of exceeding from these failure criteria is considered as the basis of ...

Scanning Parametric Sediment Echosounder as Tool for Underwater Archaeological Prospection
ABSTRACT Underwater cultural heritage 3D prospection techniques, especially for remains that are partly buried in the ground, are only very rarely available and often can only be applied with considerable technical effort. To overcome this limitation, we evaluate a methodological adaption of widely used and available single channel parametric sediment ...
