Seismic behaviour of steel sections
Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 1994Abstract In this paper, the experimental results are described and discussed which were obtained during an extensive testing program on the cyclic behaviour of steel members carried out at the Structural Engineering Department of the Politecnico di Milano.

Seismic behavior of rack structures
Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2005Abstract In order to allow the owner to change the layout according to need, rack structures must be easy to assemble; therefore, the connecting elements must reflect this need. This paper presents experimental findings for a typical rack connection, tested under static and cyclic loads. The beam-to-column connection studied utilizes hooks fabricated

Evaluation of Seismic Behavior in Non-Seismic Concentrically Braced Frames
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2015SCBFs (Special Concentrically Braced Frames) have been praised for considerable strength, high lateral stiffness, economic feasibility and good performance of seismic loads, which make engineers widely use SCBF as lateral-load resisting systems in buildings and have researchers develop design requirements.

Numerical simulations of seismic and post-seismic behavior of tailings
Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 2016Several tailings impoundments have failed as a result of earthquakes in the last few decades. A majority of these failures were due to direct seismic loading, tailings liquefaction during shaking, or the post-seismic behavior of the tailings as it relates to the dissipation of excess pore-water pressures that were generated during shaking.

Structural Concrete, 2019
Seismic performance is of paramount importance for structures in regions with high seismic risk. Engineered cementitious composite (ECC) exhibits tensile strain hardening behavior and excellent crack dispersion capacity, as well as good workability.

Seismic Behavior of Structural Subassemblages
Journal of the Structural Division, 1980The behavior of both structural steel and reinforced concrete specimens subjected to quasi-static cyclic loadings simulating severe seismic effects are examined. A large number of experimentally determined hysteretic loops for different structural arrangements based on the work mainly done at the University of California, Berkeley, serve as ...

Inferring Seismic Behavior From Morphology in Timber Roofs
International Journal of Architectural Heritage, 2012Timber roof structures composed with parallel trusses are used in traditional buildings in a variety of forms and sizes. The effect of structural morphology on the seismic response of these structures has been investigated with the aim at defining criteria for assessing their seismic vulnerability. Classic modal and response spectrum analyses have been

Asymptotic behavior of seismic hazard curves
Structural Safety, 2022Hazard curves from probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) are plots of the rate of earthquakes exceeding ground motion intensity values vs such threshold values, for a site of interest. In classical PSHA, these curves can be transformed to provide the probability of exceedance of ground motion intensity values in any time interval, utilizing the ...

Seismic behavior of strengthened square reinforced concrete columns under combined loadings
Structure and Infrastructure Engineering, 2019This paper presents an experimental study examining the seismic behavior of square reinforced concrete (RC) columns subjected to combined loadings. In this study, nine full-scale square RC columns were made with the same structural properties.

Seismic Behavior of GFRP-Reinforced Concrete Interior Beam–Column–Slab Subassemblies
, 2019Although the seismic behavior of moment-resisting frames (MRFs) reinforced with conventional steel has been extensively studied, the performance of MRFs that are reinforced with alternative...
