SEISMIC MACROZONATION OF THE PHILIPPINES BASED ON SEISMIC HAZARD ANALYSIS
This paper proposes new seismic hazard maps and seismic macrozonation for the Philippines based on earthquake occurrence data. The completeness of two earthquake catalogues is examined and the time periods in which the data are complete are identified for each magnitude level. For the maximum use of the available data, the data of large earthquakes are

This work integrates 5 years of field data from the Aquistore CCS project with a non‐isothermal THM modeling framework to explain how cold CO2 injection alters injectivity over time. The study shows that sustained cooling near the wellbore reduces effective stresses, promotes tensile micro‑cracking, and leads to semi‑reversible permeability enhancement

The EU's Strategy for Sustainability: A Landmark Turn With the European Green Deal?
ABSTRACT While the European Green Deal (EGD) has been widely recognized as a milestone in the EU's sustainability strategy, scholars disagree on the nature of the policy change it represents. Critics highlight its limited social and environmental ambitions, despite its portrayal as a “man on the moon” moment.

The 2025 Kamchatka Earthquake and Tsunami: Cascading Impacts and Risks to Japan
ABSTRACT On July 29th, 2025, a large earthquake (Mw 8.8) occurred near the Kamchatka Peninsula. This event caused a tsunami that reached Japan's Pacific coast, even though the source was far away. In this study, we analyze the characteristics of earthquakes and tsunamis and discuss how they relate to the recurrence possibility and risk in Japan.

ABSTRACT We perform probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) in the Shillong Plateau by clubbing the up‐to‐date earthquake data and seismotectonic properties of the study area. Twenty‐one areal seismic sources are delineated based on the updated earthquake catalog, tectonic, and fault plane solutions.

ABSTRACT Viscous dampers (VDs) are widely used to mitigate the excessive responses of long‐span bridges. However, VDs face some intricate challenges in engineering practices, including high damping coefficient requirement, potential base shear amplification and tremendous damping force under high velocity. To address these issues, this study develops a

METHODOLOGY OF SITE-SPECIFIC SEISMIC HAZARD ANALYSIS FOR IMPORTANT CIVIL STRUCTURE
Note from the Editor The Indonesian archipelago is one of the most active tectonic zones in the world. Therefore to design an important (and dangerous) structure such as a nuclear power plan knowledge of the seismicity of the site is very important. This

Seismogenic depth and seismic coupling estimation in the transition zone between Alps, Dinarides and Pannonian Basin for the new Slovenian seismic hazard model [PDF]
Seismogenic depth and seismic coupling are important inputs into seismic hazard estimates. Although the importance of seismic coupling is often overlooked, it significantly impacts seismic hazard results.

Seismic Structural Reliability by Time‐Variant Fragility Functions
ABSTRACT The seismic vulnerability of aging structures is often represented in the form of fragility curves that vary with time. On one hand, each of these functions is intended to apply if the earthquake hits at the time the fragility refers to. On the other hand, performance‐based earthquake engineering (PBEE) resources to classical probabilistic ...
