Abstract Numerical modeling has been widely used to assess the feasibility of geothermal energy development at sites across the world, but modeling applications simulating the potential impacts on shallow hydrothermal resources and surface water are relatively scarce. In this study, we apply the MODFLOW 6 groundwater energy (GWE) code to simulate fully

Dragonfly functional connectivity responses are dynamic relative to drought
During drought, dragonfly species richness decreases. Yet, dragonfly assemblages show a higher propensity for dispersal during drought. Dispersal pathways vary among the wet and dry periods, and relative to temporal changes in the landscape. While some dragonfly species can traverse plantation compartments, conservation corridors facilitate functional ...

The Unexpected Discovery of Paleocene? Coals in Outcrops Thought to Be Cambrian, Al Huqf, Oman
ABSTRACT Two brown organic deposits were encountered whilst investigating kaolinitic claystones thought to occur at the base of a Cambrian formation at outcrop. The age of these organic deposits is probably Paleocene from palynology. Organic petrography shows that they are subbituminous coals with some oil source potential.

Incorporating burn probability into spatial prioritization of woodland caribou habitat restoration
Abstract Introduction Habitat disturbance is a major driver of population declines of woodland caribou in Canada. Habitat restoration is a critical component of a successful, longāterm approach to caribou recovery; however, with limited resources, it is important to target areas where restoration efforts will provide maximum benefits to caribou.
