Bayesian Modeling of Crustal Azimuthal Anisotropy Supports Partial Crust–Mantle Anisotropic Decoupling in a Continental Back‐Arc, Northeast China

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 15, 16 August 2026.
Abstract How crustal deformation responds to complex mantle flow in continental back‐arc settings remains poorly constrained. Here, we develop a Bayesian working‐likelihood approach to estimate crust‐averaged azimuthal anisotropy from P‐wave receiver functions. The method separates crust‐averaged velocity anisotropy from dip‐related apparent anisotropy

Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 15, 5 August 2026.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Metasurface‐Enabled Active‐Like Passive Radar

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 44, 7 August 2026.
A programmable space‐time‐coding metasurface embeds distinct spatiotemporal tags into ambient wireless signals, allowing passive radar to operate in an active‐like manner. By enabling code‐correlated reconstruction under interference, the approach supports robust real‐time UAV tracking in complex environments and points to intelligent, low‐power ...

Comparative Neuroanatomy of Hydrothermal Vent Shrimps: Ecological Differentiation Among Four Alvinocaridid Species

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 534, Issue 8, August 2026.
Hydrothermal vent shrimps share a conserved brain architecture with enlarged mushroom bodies and terminal medullae, shaped by similar environmental pressures. Despite this similarity, some anatomical features near the brain vary between species, suggesting that some ecological factors, such as microhabitat and trophic strategies, also influence nervous

Unraveling Spatiotemporal Heterogeneity and Driving Mechanism of Vegetation Recovery in Co‐Seismic Landslide Areas via Nonlinear Trajectories and Bayesian Networks

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
We developed an integrated GAM–Bayesian framework to diagnose the nonlinear recovery dynamics of vegetation in landslide‐affected areas. Our model reveals that most sites reached a key recovery inflection point within 5–7 years, with faster recovery occurring under warm, moist, and moderate light conditions.
