Seismic interferometry in the presence of an isolated noise source
Seismic interferometry gives rise to a correlation wavefield that is closely related to the Green’s function under the condition of uniformly distributed noise sources. In the presence of an additional isolated noise source, a second contribution

A near-surface seismic scattered wave separation method
Considering that near-surface scattered waves could not be suppressed by conventional denoise method, this paper analyzes the characteristics of scattered waves and achieves the near-surface scattered wave separation by the seismic interferometry theory.

Seismic imaging and monitoring of the near-surface structure are crucial for the sustainable development of urban areas. However, standard seismic surveys based on cabled or autonomous geophone arrays are expensive and hard to adapt to noisy ...

Triple Michelson Interferometer for a Third-Generation Gravitational Wave Detector [PDF]
The upcoming European design study `Einstein gravitational-wave Telescope' represents the first step towards a substantial, international effort for the design of a third-generation interferometric gravitational wave detector.

Previous studies examining the relationship between the groundwater table and seismic velocities have been guided by empirical relationships only. Here, we develop a physics-based model relating fluctuations in groundwater table and pore pressure with ...

Combined use of repeated active shots and ambient noise to detect temporal changes in seismic velocity: application to Sakurajima volcano, Japan [PDF]
Additional file 1. Comparison of the results of coda-wave interferometry and seismic interferometry on the almost identical wave paths. Gray dots in top two panels are daily dv/v values obtained from seismic interferometry.

Review of Seismic Interferometry
We review seismic interferometry with an example of a numerical simulation. A cross-correlation of two seismic records at different receivers yields a virtual source record that corresponds to the seismic response observed at one receiver due to the source at another receiver location.

Seismic interferometry (SI) refers to the principle of generating new seismic responses using crosscorrelations of existing wavefield recordings. In this study, we report on the use of a specific interferometric approach, called seismic interferometry by

Interferometric surface-wave isolation and removal [PDF]
The removal of surface waves (ground roll) from land seismic data is critical in seismic processing because these waves tend to mask informative body-wave arrivals.
