ABSTRACT The interaction between fluid flow and mechanical deformation in fault zones can lead to processes of fault reactivation, triggering potential geomechanical problems such as seismicity, well collapse, fluid migration to shallower layers, and aggravated surface subsidence.

The Viscoelastic Behaviour of Auxetic Metamaterials
Stretch‐only auxetic unit‐cell viscoelastic models are extended from elastic honeycomb and keyway lattices using Maxwell and standard‐linear‐solid representations. Different horizontal and oblique relaxation responses make Poisson's ratio time‐ and frequency‐dependent, enabling tuneable auxetic behaviour for damping and adaptive structures.
