Seismic hazard mapping of Ohrid, North Macedonia
A seismic microzonation study is presented for the city of Ohrid in North Macedonia, an important World Heritage Site, exceptionally rich in archeological, architectural, and cultural sites. The Uniform Hazard Method was used to compute the amplitudes of strong motion, with explicit consideration of the geological site conditions.

A novel probabilistic methodology for regional seismic site characterization is proposed and applied to a region with highly heterogeneous surficial geology and varying soil sediment thickness and stiffness. The method combines various sources of geological and geotechnical uncertainties to develop a three‐dimensional (3D) shear‐wave velocity (Vs ...

A hybrid model for mapping simplified seismic response via a GIS-metamodel approach [PDF]
In earthquake-prone areas, site seismic response due to lithostratigraphic sequence plays a key role in seismic hazard assessment. A hybrid model, consisting of GIS and metamodel (model of model) procedures, was introduced aimed at estimating the 1-D ...

Seismic microzoning of the Delhi metropolitan area, India—II: Hazard computation and zoning maps
Seismic microzonation map showing the Uniform Hazard Spectra of Pseudo Relative Velocity (PSV) at 13 periods in the New Delhi metropolitan area, in India, at “rock” soil sites, = 0, for 10% probability of being exceeded during exposure of 50 years.

Preventive planning model for rescue priority management in seismic emergency [PDF]
Natural materials, such as soils, are influenced by many factors acting during their formative and evolutionary process: atmospheric agents, erosion and transport phenomena, sedimentation conditions that give soil properties a non-reducible randomness by

Seismic microzoning of the Delhi metropolitan area, India— I: Seismicity modeling
This is part I of our seismic microzoning study of Delhi, India, metropolitan area, which presents the modeling of the seismicity. The a and b values of Gutenberg–Richter law, the maximum magnitude, Mmax, and the predominant focal depths, H, were estimated for a large region (24°–33° North latitude and 72°–82° East longitude), with a grid size of 0.1°.

Abstract We analyzed 12 years of continuous seismic data acquired by two seismic stations in Central Apennines (Italy) with the aim to investigate the temporal variations of H/V spectral ratios. The two stations are located in the epicentral areas of the main strong motion earthquakes occurred in Central Italy in the last 12 years (L’Aquila 06 April ...

AN OVERVIEW OF THE TECHNIQUE FOR SEISMICITY MICROZONATION MAPPING OF THE ULAN‐UDE CITY TERRITORY
For purposes of seismicity microzonation of the Ulan‐Ude city territory, engineering geophysical studies are conducted to reveal which types of rocks and soils are dominant in the study area and to classify them by site‐specific velocities of P‐ and S ...
