Seismic resilience of retrofitted reinforced concrete buildings
The fundamentals of the seismic resilience and evaluation method are presented. The evaluation is based on a non-dimensional analytical function for loss variation and a linear recovery function for a community in an average state of preparedness within a specified ‘recovery period’.

A Call to Industry: Unearthing Synergies in Subsurface Storage Technologies
ABSTRACT Subsurface storage technologies (SSTs), including geological CO2 sequestration, underground hydrogen storage, compressed‑air energy storage and thermal energy storage, are emerging as a scalable route for industry to achieve the terawatt‑hour storage flexibility and permanent carbon removal that evolving energy systems demand.

Water availability and land‐use shape the diversity of Odonata in the Middle East
Odonata diversity in the Middle East depends on the availability of long‐lasting waters, emphasizing the importance of preserving stable aquatic habitats for biodiversity conservation under climate change‐driven droughts. Agricultural expansion is associated with increased Odonata species richness, but overall trait diversity remains limited ...

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of acoustic stimulus on the behavioural and biochemical responses of two species of crayfish, Cherax destructor and Cherax quadricarinatus. Our results showed that exposure to noise significantly affects in both species motility parameters, agonistic interactions and acoustic signals emitted. In terms of
