Seismic Risk Mitigation Framework

This chapter gives an overview of the main steps involved in a typical seismic assessment and retrofit project. As a starting point, it provides a definition of seismic risk, and describes how the components of the seismic risk equation (seismic hazard, vulnerability and consequence) are taken into account in risk awareness and mitigation.
