Discovery and Fine‐Scale Mapping of Hadal Xenophyophore Habitat in the Nova Canton Trough, Central Pacific Ocean

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Discovery and fine‐scale mapping of a hadal xenophyophore field: submersible video transects and photogrammetry enable semi‐automated delineation of xenophyophores, revealing their abundance, spatial organisation, structural complexity and contribution to habitat heterogeneity at ~8000 m depth.

Isolation, Insularity and Resilience: A Review of the Geophysical, Socioeconomic, and Environmental Vulnerabilities of Gran Canaria and Lesvos Islands for Policy Interventions to Global Change

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The dynamic nature of small islands being geographically isolated and their perceived connectedness with global networks complicates research attempts to draw general conclusions on whether insularity leads to marginalization or strengthens their resilience for sustainable development.

RETRACE Project: How to Enhance Resilience to Climate Risks in Pacific and Arctic Indigenous Communities?

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Risk management has evolved to analyze risks in a systemic way, integrating local knowledge with the abstract concept of resilience, which is now an imperative for vulnerable and exposed communities. However, existing decision‐support tools are mainly focused on technical‐functional aspects and, although based on rigorous and scientific ...

Designing Elastic Softening Under Compression via Dipole–Dipole Interactions: The Case of Na2TiSiO5

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Pressure usually stiffens solids, yet Na2TiSiO5 exhibits anomalous elastic softening under compression. Unlike conventional mechanisms driven by geometric rearrangements or electronic spin‐state transitions, the softening originates from enhanced dipole coupling along head‐to‐tail TiO5 chains.

Concrete in architecture: Redefining form, space, function, and insights from bibliometric analysis

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract Concrete has become a cornerstone in architectural and engineering innovation, as it seamlessly integrates structural performance with artistic expression. Its evolution from ancient opus caementicium to contemporary ultra‐high‐performance concrete illustrates its adaptability to the change in technological, environmental, and design paradigms.
