Seismocardiography while sleeping at high altitude
2012 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2012Current advancements in sensor technology allow the prolonged assessment of the seismocadiogram (SCG) out of the laboratory setting. Aim of this study is to evaluate whether SCG, as measured by a recently proposed wearable device, can detect cardio-respiratory alterations during sleep in healthy subjects exposed to high altitude hypoxia.

Seismocardiography: Toward heart rate variability (HRV) estimation
2015 IEEE International Symposium on Medical Measurements and Applications (MeMeA) Proceedings, 2015Heart rate variability (HRV), the variation in the beat-to-beat heart rate, is a key indicator of the cardiovascular condition of an individual. The purpose of this study was to cross-validate the beat-by-beat time variations in seismocardiography (SCG) with electrocardiography (ECG) for determining ultra-short term HRV indices.

Seismocardiography: waveform identification and noise analysis
[1991] Proceedings Computers in Cardiology, 2002The seismocardiogram (SCG) provides a convenient and reliable measure of left ventricular systolic and diastolic performance both at rest and immediately after exercise. An effective means has been developed to eliminate noise artifacts such as coughing, talking, and patient movement prior to any waveform averaging scheme. A computer algorithm has been

Cardiac sounds from a wearable device for sternal seismocardiography
2011 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2011Seismocardiography is the body-surface recording of vibrations produced by the beating heart. A high frequency (HF) accelerometric component of the seismocardiogram (SCG) is related to the heart sounds generated by the closure of atrio-ventricular and semilunar valves.

Seismocardiography: a technique for recording precordial acceleration
[1991] Computer-Based Medical Systems@m_Proceedings of the Fourth Annual IEEE Symposium, 2002The methodology for obtaining a recording and the initial findings from the seismocardiography (SCG) technique are described. It is shown that the seismocardiogram contains clearly defined points associated with the cardiac cycle that are correlated by analyzing simultaneous SCG and M-mode and Doppler echocardiograms.

A new seismocardiography segmentation algorithm for diastolic timed vibrations
2013 35th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2013An algorithm based on the combination of electrocardiography (ECG) and seismocardiogranphy (SCG) is used to detect the start and the end of diastole in diastolic timed vibrations (DTV). The proposed algorithm uses the ECG-R wave as the reference point and detects the aortic valve closure (AC) and mitral valve closure (MC) points of the SCG signal. This

Synchronized Vibration Data Acquisition for Seismocardiography
Seismocardiography (SCG) is a non-invasive technique that detects the heart’s vibrations to evaluate its mechanical activity. This research presents the design of a SCG device that utilizes a sensor fusion algorithm accurate detection of heart vibrations. The hardware comprises a main board with a high-performance microcontroller and multiple satelliteBaiamonte G. +7 more
