Fiber optic accelerometers and seismometers

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 1996
This paper presents performance and figures‐of‐merit of fiber optic interferometric accelerometers and seismometers using flexural disk, mandrel, and fluid filled transducers. Flexural disk devices having sensitivities of 50 radians/g and operating bandwidths to 2 kHz have been reported. This sensitivity corresponds to a minimum detectable signal of 20

Seismometer washes ashore

open access: yesEos, Transactions American Geophysical Union, 1984
An ocean bottom seismometer (OBS) recently washed ashore at Wake Island and was shipped to the Hawaii Institute of Geophysics. It appears to be instrument number 4 of the Texas Instrument Mark III series, built in 1964 for the Air Force Technical Applications Center.

Venus Interior Structure Mission (VISM): Establishing a Seismic Network on Venus [PDF]

open access: yes
Magellan radar data show the surface of Venus to contain a wide range of geologic features (large volcanoes, extensive rift valleys, etc.). Although networks of interconnecting zones of deformation are identified, a system of spreading ridges and ...

Back azimuth vehicle tracking using a new rotational sensor FG-500

open access: yesAIP Advances
The fiber optic rotational seismometer based on the Sagnac effect is insensitive to translational motions. It can achieve miniaturization while maintaining low noise, broadband, and high sensitivity, which is conducive to the application and promotion of

Design of solar power system for the new mini region of broadband seismometer shelter in Tiganderket, Karo, North Sumatera, Indonesia

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2020
The solar power installation on a new broadband seismometer shelter will greatly be affected by the quality of waveform data. The lower power means a physically smaller footprint and a less costly installation for a new station which must be located far ...
