A Seismometer for Observations on Mars
Cosmic Research, 2021Thos article paper the results of the development and creation of a three-component seismometer for measurements on Mars. In the low-frequency and quasi-static region of the spectrum, the instrument also performs the functions of a tiltmeter and gravimeter. A description of the sensing element, a single-axis sensor, is given.

Portable digital seismometer [PDF]
We have developed an autonomous portable digital seismometer for measurements in the field, in engineering constructions, and in hard-to-reach places. The seismometer is a monoblock including an SM-6 seismic receiver and digital seismic recorder. The SM-6 seismic receiver is a highly effective device for field work on investigating a microseismic wave ...

BlueSeis3A: Full Characterization of a 3C Broadband Rotational Seismometer
, 2018Recently, due to observations of rotational ground motions, a promising new field of research in seismology and engineering has developed. However, exploration of rotation's potential has been hampered by the lack of a portable, reliable, and highly ...

Planetary Science Because of the lack of direct seismic observations, the interior structure of Mars has been a mystery. Khan et al. , Knapmeyer-Endrun et al. , and Stahler et al. used recently detected marsquakes from the seismometer deployed during the InSight mission to map the interior of Mars (see the Perspective by Cottaar and Koelemeijer).

The Electrochemical Seismometer Based on a Novel Designed Sensing Electrode for Undersea Exploration
2019 20th International Conference on Solid-State Sensors, Actuators and Microsystems & Eurosensors XXXIII (TRANSDUCERS & EUROSENSORS XXXIII), 2019This paper developed a MEMS based electrochemical seismometer featured with a new structure of sensing electrodes. The sensing electrodes in this study can significantly increase the working areas of cathodes, and accurately control the geometries of the

A 3D Broadband Seismometer Array Experiment at the Homestake Mine
Seismological Research Letters, 2018Seismometer deployments are often confined to near the Earth’s surface for practical reasons, despite the clear advantages of deeper seismometer installations related to lower noise levels and more homogeneous conditions. Here, we describe a 3D broadband

Abstract Theory and description are given of sensitive capacity-type seismometers having small size, eddy-current damping, and an undamped period of 0.23 second. The voltage output is taken to the grid of a cathode-follower tube within the instrument and is thereafter amplified.
