Planktonic prey size selection reveals an emergent keystone predator effect and niche partitioning.
Marine herbivorous protists are often the dominant grazers of primary production. We developed a size-based model with flexible size-based grazing to encapsulate taxonomic and behavioral diversity.

Measuring Selective Grazing with Fistulated Steers
Abstract Four grazing trials were conducted during 1958, with three on a Kentucky bluegrass-white clover pasture and the other on a tall fescue-Ladino clover pasture. Steers with either rumen or esophageal fistulas were used to sample the forage at two- to three-day intervals. Selective grazing was exhibited on the pasture studies. Botanical analysis

Dynamics of Sudanian savanna-woodland ecosystem in response to disturbances [PDF]
Grazing, fire and selective tree cutting are major disturbances shaping species diversity and productivity in savanna-woodland ecosystems. Their effects, however, are highly variable and poorly understood.

Phytoplankton cell size: intra- and interspecific effects of warming and grazing. [PDF]
Decreasing body size has been suggested as the third universal biological response to global warming after latitudinal/altitudinal range shifts and shifts in phenology.

Degree of Herbage Selection by Grazing Cattle
Summary An investigation was made of the degree of selective grazing exercised by growing steers. A series of 66 individual trials was conducted with six herbages, each at three to five different stages of growth. The degree of discriminate grazing was marked with almost all herbages examined.

A Multi‐Scale Machine Learning Framework for the Inverse Design of High Entropy Alloys
High‐entropy alloys offer vast potential for various applications, including electrocatalysis; however, their compositional complexity challenges conventional screening. We introduce an inverse‐design framework combining two neural networks to determine optimal compositions and reconstruct nanoparticle geometry from targeted properties and conventional

High biomass turnover rates of endosymbiotic nitrogen‐fixing cyanobacteria in the western Bering Sea
Recent studies have described active nitrogen fixation in high‐latitude waters, but the ecological controls on the occurrence or activity of nitrogen‐fixing organisms (diazotrophs) in such systems remain unknown.

A multi-species model to assess the effect of refugia on worm control and anthelmintic resistance in sheep grazing systems [PDF]
Develop a computer simulation model that uses daily meteorological data and farm management practices to predict populations of Trichostrongylus colubriformis, Haemonchus contortus and Teladorsagia (Ostertagia) circumcincta and the evolution of ...

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...
